Vodacom offers health insurance to mothers and newborn babies at Mnazimmoja Hospital

Vodacom Tanzania Plc has offered a health insurance services to 100 mothers and 100 newborn babies admitted at the Mnazimmoja Referral Hospital that will last for a year.

The move is part of the company’s campaign to spread love during the festive season where mothers who gave birth from November 9th at the hospital will be insured with ‘Voda Bima’ insurance.

Speaking at the hospital, the Vodacom head of information and communication, Annette Kanora, said that the move is a continuation of the company’s plan to support its customers and addressing the challenges facing society.

She said the company has aimed to reach 1,000 mothers and 1,000 infants across Tanzania, while in Zanzibar 100 mothers and their children will receive medical services at the Ampola (Global) hospital, Tawakal, Al Rahmana, Mnazimmoja, Muhimbili National Hospital among others.

Commenting on the ‘Sambaza Shangwe, Gusa Maisha’ campaign, Vodacom Zanzibar Sales Manager, Fadhili Linga, said health is an important sector and the company has committed to support the government’s efforts through various projects run by the company including M-Mama.

He pledged that the company will strengthen its partnership with both Zanzibar and the union governments to ensure access to quality health services for Tanzanians.

Head of the maternity and child health services ward at the Mmnazimmoja hospital, Khadija Salum Said, praised the company for its creativity and for helping parents and their children get better healthcare services.

Maryam Yohana Daniel one of the beneficiaries, commended the company for supporting them and their children.
