Dr. Mwinyi pledges action on CCJR report

The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has pledged to work on the recommendations made by the Commission on Criminal Justice Reforms (CCJR).

President Dr. Mwinyi talked about the good cooperation between the institutions

Regarding the appeals court to do its work in Zanzibar, he said that the issue is already being dealt with and praised the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania for adding strength to the construction of the infrastructure of the High Court of Zanzibar.

And, the Chairman of the Commission. Retired Chief Justice Mohamed Othman Chande, explained Dr. Mwinyi that the commission succeeded in working on the challenges of 15 institutions proposed by the United Republic of Tanzania including the Police Force, the National Prosecutor’s Office, the Prison Service.

Other institutions are the Authority to prevent and fight Corruption, the Authority to control and fight drugs. Tanzania Court, unit to control illegal money Immigration. Reprimand the Chief Government and other institutions dealing with criminal matters by evaluating the cooperation of these institutions and looking at discipline, employment systems, professional standards, promotion commission, efficiency, relations, discipline, efficient use of technology and motivation.

The commission was created by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, January 31 this year and started its work in February this year.
